Global Ethical Challenges: Shaping Our Food Futures Students will gain in-depth, first-hand experience of the contemporary environmental, social, political and health challenges experienced in the Hong Kong food system. Engaging with experts from NGOs, social enterprises and academics as well as grassroots practitioners we will explore issues ranging from innovative production practices designed to secure the city and region’s food futures to the multifaceted issue of food waste and reliance on single-use plastics. This 2-week cultural immersion program involves workshops, lectures, field trips, food tours and opportunities to volunteer with local social enterprises to develop practical understanding of the barriers and enablers of an ethical, just urban food system.
